Business Analyst, Card Portfolio Analytics

Blend is an AI services provider that combines data science, artificial intelligence, technology, and human expertise to create value for clients. The Business Analyst will support analytics and reporting for a financial institution’s card portfolio, develop recurring reports and dashboards, answer business questions, and translate data into actionable recommendations. The role also partners with stakeholders to optimize reporting processes and improve portfolio decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing analytics and reporting support for a card portfolio, with a particular focus on a new card program
• Develop a strong understanding of portfolio performance, business objectives, and stakeholder needs to provide meaningful analytical support
• Develop, refine, and maintain recurring business reports and dashboards
• Respond to ongoing business questions by researching data, analyzing results, and translating findings into clear business insights
• Analyze portfolio performance, trends, and key drivers to identify opportunities, challenges, and areas requiring additional attention
• Present findings through clear reports, presentations, and business recommendations tailored to the needs of business stakeholders
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand questions, objectives, and reporting needs and translate them into actionable analysis
• Apply sound business judgment when interpreting data and determining the practical implications of findings
• Translate quantitative information into clear, data-informed recommendations that can support business decision-making
• Serve as a trusted thought partner to stakeholders by proactively identifying trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement
• Develop a deep understanding of the card portfolio and use that knowledge to provide context beyond simply reporting the numbers
• Evaluate existing reports and reporting processes to identify opportunities to simplify, streamline, and improve recurring deliverables
• Help transform lengthy or complex reporting into more efficient, user-friendly, and actionable formats
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across recurring reporting processes
• Where appropriate, collaborate with stakeholders and technical partners to explore opportunities for reporting automation or process improvements
• Work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional partners to understand priorities and deliver timely analytical support
• Manage multiple requests and priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and responsiveness
• Communicate analytical findings clearly to both analytical and non-technical audiences
• Build strong working relationships and establish credibility through reliable follow-through, attention to detail, and practical business insight
• Work independently while knowing when to ask questions, seek additional context, or escalate an issue

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, reporting, card services, card operations, or a related field
• Experience working with business reporting and analyzing quantitative information to identify trends, performance drivers, and meaningful business implications
• Strong knowledge of payments, card services, card operations, or card portfolio management
• Experience developing, refining, and maintaining business reports
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong data analysis capabilities, including the ability to interpret results, identify trends, and determine practical business implications
• Ability to translate data into clear, actionable business recommendations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with reports and quantitative information
• Strong business judgment and the ability to connect analytical findings to broader business objectives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and ongoing business requests
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Highly detail-oriented, proactive, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of deliverables
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, business-focused approach to analysis
• must be able to work on Blend's W2 without sponsorship
• Experience supporting a card-product launch, portfolio optimization initiative, or similar business initiative is a plus
• Experience working with DataChoice, First Data, or Symitar is strongly preferred
• Experience simplifying or automating recurring reporting processes is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools is strongly preferred
• Exposure to AI coding or development-assistance tools is a plus, but hands-on software development experience is not required
