Optical SSA / Image Processing Engineer

Foundational is building precise Earth and orbit measurement systems using ground-based laser ranging stations and optical satellite tracking. The Optical SSA / Image Processing Engineer will develop image-processing pipelines to detect, track, and measure satellites, calibrate camera systems, support real-time closed-loop tracking, and validate results against catalogue orbits and laser data.

Responsibilities:

• Develop pipelines for detection, streak extraction and astrometry
• Calibrate cameras and timing so that measurements are accurate and traceable
• Build real-time processing to support closed-loop tracking
• Validate results against catalogue orbits and our own laser data
• Work with the optics and software teams on camera selection and integration
