Director, Business Analytics & Insights

Microsoft is seeking a Director, Business Analytics & Insights to lead its Planning Analytics and Rapid Analytics functions. The role oversees planning strategy, rapid business consulting, analytics platform and data strategy, AI readiness, executive decision support, and the development of a high-performing analytics organization.

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the Planning Analytics vision, strategy, and roadmap across Small, Medium & Corporate (SME&C)
• Lead analytics for Fast Start, segmentation, quota setting, territory and coverage planning, resource allocation, investment optimization, and capacity planning
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable planning frameworks and recommendations that improve business outcomes
• Build and lead a Rapid Analytics capability that delivers timely insights on emerging opportunities, risks, and executive priorities
• Apply advanced analytics, experimentation, scenario modeling, and hypothesis-driven analysis to complex business challenges
• Translate evolving or imperfect data into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders
• Lead and develop an organization of analytics specialists, business analysts, data professionals, and people managers
• Foster an inclusive culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Build capabilities across analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), business storytelling, planning methodologies, and modern data technologies
• Partner with Engineering to influence the data architecture, semantic models, and analytics capabilities supporting enterprise planning
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Structured Query Language (SQL), cloud-based data platforms, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable analytics products
• Establish trusted metrics, business definitions, governance, and data foundations that support self-service analytics, executive reporting, and AI readiness
• Build trusted partnerships across Small, Medium & Corporate (SME&C), Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS), Finance, Strategy, Sales Excellence, Operations, and Engineering
• Influence strategic decisions through data-driven recommendations and executive storytelling
• Align stakeholders around opportunities, risks, and long-term business outcomes

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience
• 5+ years people management experience
• Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 12+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance,Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 15+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience
