Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Azure architect to drive a migration effort and lead one or two engineers. The architect will own technical direction and delivery across Azure services, landing zone design, infrastructure as code, resiliency, deployment pipelines, and application migration and testing. The role requires onsite work in the Detroit area.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration effort, set the technical approach, and guide one or two engineers through delivery.
• Design and implement solutions using Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Service Bus.
• Shape Azure landing zone architecture, including Gen 2 and isolation zone requirements in the client environment.
• Author and maintain reusable Terraform modules for Azure infrastructure.
• Design multi-region architecture and failover capabilities.
• Engineer CI/CD pipelines to support deployment and migration work.
• Plan and execute application migration with functional and regression testing.

Required Experience

• Hands-on Azure architecture and migration experience, including Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Service Bus.
• Azure landing zone design and workload isolation.
• Terraform module authoring and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Multi-region architecture and failover design.
• CI/CD pipeline engineering and application migration testing.

Work Arrangement and Rate

• This is a contract opportunity requiring onsite work in the Detroit area. The rate is open and will depend on experience and fit for the role.
