Sr. Software Engineer, Data Platform (MANTL)

Alkami Technology is a digital sales and service platform provider for U.S. banks and credit unions. The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and operate backend-heavy full-stack Data Platform features, including secure APIs, data egress workflows, and event-data automations. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration, production support, and operational reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end implementation of Data Platform features, from design and development through deployment and production support
• Turn customer needs into practical designs and incremental delivery plans
• Build and maintain REST APIs that deliver marketing performance and other platform data to customer BI tools
• Develop backend services and data flows that move data through queues, databases, and customer-facing interfaces
• Create clear, usable interfaces that let nontechnical users configure complex data egress workflows
• Develop webpage automations that capture and analyze aggregate event data with appropriate privacy and security controls
• Design reliable data models, API contracts, and integrations with appropriate validation, error handling, and observability
• Collaborate with data and software engineers on new Data Platform products
• Write readable, tested code; review changes constructively; and explain design decisions in documentation and discussion
• Communicate proposals, tradeoffs, and progress clearly in written documents, Slack, and live discussion
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response, investigate root causes, and improve operational readiness
• Use automated tests and secure, human-reviewed AI tools to improve delivery

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend or full-stack application development, including production services or APIs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience building, shipping, and maintaining production services or APIs
• Strong TypeScript proficiency and backend development experience, with the ability to contribute to front-end features
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, asynchronous data flows, and relational SQL data modeling
• Ability to write readable, tested code and address reliability, security, and operational concerns
• Clear verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain and defend technical decisions
• Ability to own a feature through delivery while collaborating across engineering, data, and product teams
• Experience developing and operating software in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment
• Experience building data products or working in fintech, banking, or another regulated industry
• Familiarity with NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, BullMQ, or a TypeScript monorepo using pnpm and Turborepo
• Familiarity with GraphQL, React, Relay, Next.js, or developer-facing products and APIs
• Familiarity with data quality, observability, compliance-related systems, or core banking software
