Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence & Analytics

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Senior Specialist, Business Intelligence & Analytics to support eligibility feeds, Employer Population Health applications, and internal and external customer needs. The role leads business requirements gathering, BI and reporting solution development, data automation, SQL-based analytics, and collaboration with cross-functional teams while coaching junior developers.

Responsibilities:

• Independently leads gathering and evaluating business requirements for incoming business analytics requests and provide efficient and effective solutions
• Leads design, development, deployment and support of custom data solutions for high impact, high visibility products, processes and customers—including but not limited to APIs, interfaces, and linked servers
• Leads design, development, deployment and support of sustainable/automated BI, reporting and analytics solutions such as dashboards, scorecards, workflows and various other forms of data visualization and delivery
• Designs, develops, deploys and supports measure algorithms in the form of complex SQL scripts and database queries
• Collaborates strongly with Product and IT teams to ensure product and platform design integrates successfully with BI solutions
• Proactively anticipates internal/external customer needs and uses customer insight to drive and guide the development of new solutions and offerings
• Serves as a strategic partner to build, grow and maintain effective relationships with data partners
• Maintains proactive communication and transparency with key internal and external stakeholders to provide status of projects
• Provides support, guidance and collaboration with Application Developers to implement database and workflow design, and review developer’s work to ensure correct implementation
• Upgrade and improve data and application schema, preparing design documents and functional specifications
• Build solutions to drive scalable solutions that leverage data warehousing, dimensional modelling and design, Analytics, Dashboarding, Key performance Indicators (KPIs), Data Quality, Data Management and Data governance best practices

Requirements:

• 5+ years recent progressive data related experience including Data Analytics, Dashboarding, Data Profiling and Data Management
• Experience in work automation tools like Power Automate, UiPath, etc
• 1-2 yeas of healthcare industry experience
• 1+ years of workflow and API development and integrations using tools like Alteryx
• Strong demonstrated experience in Tableau/Power BI for dashboard creation and visual data storytelling, data visualization
• Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and ETL processes
• Proficient in Excel
• Advanced Excel User
• Advanced data analysis skills
• Proficient in Tableau & SQL
• Advanced knowledge of Alteryx
• Demonstrated ability to apply statistical analysis tools to drive improvement and demonstrate ROI
• Demonstrated understanding and experience in continuous improvement, process management, or system thinking
• Problem-solving skills: uses a systematic, disciplined and data-driven approach that identifies the root causes of various issues and designs solutions to resolve them
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Project Management
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in IT, Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics (Required)
• 2+ years' experience in project management or continuous improvement methodologies
• Master's Degree (Preferred)
