Customer Growth District Sales Manager

Toast creates technology that helps restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world. The Customer Growth District Sales Manager will build, coach, and develop a remote inside sales team while generating leads, growing SMB account portfolios, and achieving sales quotas for Toast software services. The role also focuses on customer relationships, retention, product adoption, forecasting, and resolving escalations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, coach and develop a quota achieving sales team
• Cultivate, build and maintain strong client relationships that deepen over the life of the account
• Manage the full sales process from initial customer interest through close, go-live, and continued product adoption
• Own the health of your team's portfolio — drive proactive retention and get ahead of churn before it shows up in the numbers
• Run consistent operating rhythms — 1:1s, account coaching, and pipeline inspection — with disciplined forecast accuracy
• Learn the Toast Platform and become a product expert; coach the team on deepening product usage inside their accounts
• Assist in training staff and management
• Track and analyze sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics, including expansion, adoption, and retention
• Handle and resolve customer escalations, partnering cross-functionally to remove blockers for your team

Requirements:

• 1+ years of sales management experience, or equivalent mentorship experience, with complex software solutions — preferably software as a service
• Demonstrated experience building a customer facing, quota achieving client services team, with emphasis on developing sales staff to prospect, qualify, and close business
• Experience coaching a team to grow and retain a book of business — upsell, adoption, and renewal conversations
• Proven track record of consistent quota attainment
• Demonstrated leadership through mentoring others and contributing beyond your immediate team
• Metrics driven for optimum sales performance for the team, with strong forecasting and pipeline rigor
• Experience managing a fast paced, transactional sales team
• Experience working with software technologies and delivering customer demos
• Strong business acumen and goal oriented
• Driven – possesses a strong desire to be successful, self-starter and a true initiator
• Sandler Sales methodology experience preferred
• Payroll and POS experience is desired but not required
