Technical Project Manager

Peraton is a national security and enterprise IT company supporting government agencies and mission-critical programs. The Technical Project Manager will support day-to-day program management, scheduling, reporting, risk tracking, Agile coordination, and stakeholder communication for the BASIS program. The role coordinates technical teams, subcontractors, and Government stakeholders across application sustainment, modernization, and security activities.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Contract Program Manager in managing cost, schedule, and technical performance across all BASIS program tasks and subtasks
• Maintain and update the Service Now Project schedules Server and SharePoint repository, ensuring tasks, milestones, estimated dates, and dependencies are current and provide weekly IMS presentations to customer
• Assist in developing and maintaining the Project Management Plan (PMP), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Product Roadmaps and Communication Plan
• Prepare weekly IPR slide decks and written reports, due 2 hours prior to each Integrated Progress Review; capture and distribute meeting minutes and action items
• Coordinate and track project deliverables
• Support the maintenance of the formal Risk Register, including probability/impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and current status
• Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to ensure POA&M submissions and updates are completed within required timelines
• Maintain product backlog and project tasks in JIRA
• Support the program's Agile/Scrum delivery model by coordinating sprint planning, daily scrum facilitation, sprint reviews, and retrospectives across technical delivery teams
• Track and report sprint point burn rates and velocity metrics
• Coordinate with QA, development, and security teams to ensure Agile sprint deliverables — including automated test cases, RTMs, and release artifacts — are on track for end-of-sprint completion
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating code reviews
• Serve as a coordination point between internal technical teams, subcontractors, Government stakeholders, and external partners
• Assist in coordinating distribution of release notes and technical documentation
• Maintain and organize program documentation, deliverable tracking, and collaboration workspaces in SharePoint
• Support reporting and data extraction activities as directed by the Program Manager
• Coordinate ServiceNow workflow tickets and incident tracking as required by program operations

Requirements:

• 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with HS Diploma
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
• Experience in project coordination, project management, or program support roles, preferably within IT or software development programs
• Working knowledge of project management fundamentals including schedule management, risk tracking, status reporting, and stakeholder communication
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience supporting sprint-based delivery teams
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools including Microsoft Project, Service Now, SharePoint, and JIRA
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear, concise status reports and briefing materials for Government and senior leadership audiences
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, track deliverable deadlines, and escalate issues in a timely manner
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional DoD program environment
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or active pursuit; Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) accepted
• SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or equivalent Agile certification
• Prior experience supporting DoD or Federal government IT programs with formal deliverable obligations
• Experience with DevSecOps program environments and sprint-level project tracking
• Familiarity with ServiceNow for workflow and incident management
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and managing multi-vendor program environments
• Familiarity with DEERS, TRICARE, or other DoD healthcare/benefits systems
• Basic understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cybersecurity compliance obligations within DoD IT programs
