Hardware / PCB Design Engineer (Mixed-Signal, KiCad)

GRT Corporation is developing SENTINEL, an edge node that detects developing faults in electrical equipment. The company is seeking a hands-on hardware engineer to own the board’s end-to-end electronic design, provide same-day electrical support, and produce clean, manufacturable release packages. The role focuses on mixed-signal PCB design, KiCad workflows, high-voltage practices, instrumentation, and design verification.

Responsibilities:

• Own and maintain the board design as the single source of truth — schematic, layout, and a properly version-controlled source repository
• Provide same-day answers to routine electrical questions for procurement, vendors, and program management
• Produce complete release packages (schematic, layout, gerbers, BoM, CPL) on demand
• Own the change log and revision discipline
• Work directly with board-build, firmware, and bench-test vendors

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 5–10 years of hands-on board design — you personally design and route boards, not just review or manage others
• KiCad ownership — full schematic-to-manufacturing workflow (schematic capture, multilayer layout, gerber/drill, BoM and pick-and-place export) with the source held in version control
• Mixed-signal design — analog front ends and data converters, grounding and return-path discipline, and noise / dynamic-range awareness
• High-voltage practice — creepage and clearance, isolation between high- and low-voltage domains, sensing on mains-referenced nodes
• Instrumentation and metering — current transformers, voltage dividers, and energy-measurement front ends
• DFM fluency — direct work with fab and assembly vendors, stackup and panelization, and consistency across your manufacturing outputs
• Design-verification discipline that goes beyond automated ERC/DRC — you know where automated checks fall silent and you check for it
• MS a plus
• Electric motor drives / motor-control hardware
• Arc-fault detection and applicable safety standards
• Comfort on the bench (scopes, arbitrary waveform generators, precision sources)
