Instructional Designer – Project Management Training (Engineering Industry)

Clarity Consultants is recruiting for an unnamed engineering firm. The Instructional Designer will create a customized project management learning program aligned with the firm's engineering projects, processes, and delivery expectations, collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess needs and develop practical training.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct a learning needs analysis to assess current project management capabilities, identify skill gaps, and establish learning objectives
• Collaborate with engineering leaders, project managers, and SMEs to understand project workflows, challenges, and best practices
• Design a customized project management curriculum aligned with the organization's processes, methodologies, and business objectives
• Develop engaging learning materials, potentially including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), eLearning, workshops, case studies, and job aids
• Create practical exercises and realistic engineering project scenarios that reinforce key project management concepts
• Incorporate relevant topics such as project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, risk management, stakeholder communication, and project execution
• Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, presentations, assessments, and other supporting resources as needed
• Recommend an effective learning delivery strategy that accommodates different experience levels and learning needs
• Establish methods to evaluate learning effectiveness and measure improvements in project management competencies
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback and refine the program to ensure it meets organizational needs

Requirements:

• Proven experience designing and developing customized project management training programs for corporate audiences
• Strong background in instructional design, learning needs analysis, curriculum development, and adult learning principles
• Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Ability to translate complex project management concepts into practical, engaging learning experiences
• Experience developing blended learning solutions, including ILT, vILT, eLearning, and performance support materials
• Proficiency with instructional design and development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and PowerPoint
• Strong consulting, facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with technical SMEs, and manage multiple deliverables
• Familiarity with PMI methodologies, PMBOK, or PMP certification requirements
• Experience working with engineering, construction, manufacturing, or other technical organizations
• Experience developing project management training specifically for engineering or engineering consulting firms
• Understanding of engineering project lifecycles, deliverables, and project controls
• Experience designing competency-based learning programs for project managers at varying levels of experience
• Background developing scenario-based workshops, case studies, and practical project management simulations
