Senior DevOps Engineer

Cognizant is a digital services company seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native DevOps solutions. The role focuses on CI/CD automation, cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, system performance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment processes, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery
• Implement and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to support consistent, scalable, and secure deployments
• Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to improve release cycles, reduce deployment risks, and strengthen collaboration
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application and infrastructure performance to ensure high availability and operational efficiency
• Drive automation initiatives and champion DevOps best practices across the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
• Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Experience automating software delivery pipelines in enterprise environments
• Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience implementing cloud security and governance best practices
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms
• Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing applications
• AWS, Azure, Terraform, or DevOps-related certifications
