Cloud Security Engineer II

Lumen is a trusted network provider connecting people, data, and applications through fiber, cloud, edge, and AI infrastructure. The Cloud Security Engineer II will design, implement, monitor, and support cloud and enterprise security solutions across areas including MFA, endpoint security, email security, and data loss prevention.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts in the cloud
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans of cloud infrastructure
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation for cloud security
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members
• Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies related to cloud security
• Provide operational engineering support for Multifactor Authentication, Endpoint Security, Email Security and Data Loss Prevention as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information/Cyber Security, Computer Science, related field, or relevant experience
• Experience in cloud security and knowledge of MFA, DLP, Email Security as well as Endpoint Security
• Candidate must be able to obtain Government Suitability
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software
• Possess or be willing to pursue relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security

• Engineer Associate, or equivalent are preferred

• Microsoft or UNIX (including Linux or other UNIX derivatives) operating system administration/support experience
• Experience in engineering security controls within multi-cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Development experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl or PowerShell
• Candidate must possess or be willing to pursue applicable professional/technical certifications such as CCSP
• Experience in large enterprise or carrier data centers and/or networks
