Senior Software Engineer, Processing

Lithic is a modern card issuing and processing platform that helps financial companies build and scale payment products. The Senior Software Engineer, Processing will lead development and reliability of real-time and batch interfaces with payment networks, including authorization, settlement, disputes, and network integrations. The role also involves infrastructure improvements, strategic planning, cross-functional project leadership, and participation in on-call support.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure high reliability, low latency, and correctness for Lithic's transaction processing interfaces and related services
• Develop new capabilities across authorization, clearing/settlement, disputes, and network integration surfaces
• Ensure that the team is delivering reliable, secure, and scalable code with minimal tech debt
• Evolve the infrastructure supporting physical network peering with card network partners, ensuring connectivity, failover, and capacity meet reliability requirements
• Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way
• Participate in the team on-call rotation
• Lead efforts to improve systems and processes both within the team and across engineering
• Help drive strategic planning in collaboration with the engineering manager and product manager

Requirements:

• 8+ years experience shipping code in fast paced production environments
• Advanced distributed system instincts and design skills
• Experience driving large cross-functional projects across engineering, product, and operations teams
• A proven commitment to empathy and inclusion
• Excellent communication skills
