Junior Software Engineer

Remolity is a remote job platform that helps candidates discover remote roles through transparent listings and skill-based matching. The Junior Software Engineer will support development and maintenance of the platform by implementing back-end features, fixing bugs, writing and reviewing code, collaborating with product and design teams, and assisting with testing, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.

Responsibilities:

• The Junior Software Engineer will support the development and maintenance of Remolity’s remote job platform as part of a contract engagement
• This remote role involves implementing back-end features, fixing bugs, and contributing to scalable software solutions under the guidance of senior engineers
• Day-to-day tasks include writing clean and well-documented code, reviewing pull requests, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with product and design teams to refine requirements
• The engineer will also assist with testing, troubleshooting production issues, and improving system performance and reliability

Requirements:

• • Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
• • Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• • Experience or coursework in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks
• • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to design and implement modular, reusable code
• • Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and work with version control tools such as Git
• • Effective written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating in a fully remote environment
• • Relevant academic background (e.g., degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent practical experience
• • Familiarity with agile development practices and basic testing techniques is a plus
