Vice President, Product Management, Platform & Innovation

Appfire is a remote software company that creates products enabling teams to collaborate and work across organizational silos. The Vice President will lead the Appfire Platform, Innovation portfolio, and technical product relationship with Atlassian while defining strategy, scaling platform capabilities, launching new products, and building high-performing product teams.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with executive leadership to establish a compelling vision for the Appfire Platform and new-product portfolio as part of the broader company strategy
• Translate that vision into a clear investment thesis, product roadmap, measurable objectives, and operating plan
• Make disciplined decisions about where to build, buy, partner, invest, scale, or stop
• Maintain a clear view of progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs, adjusting priorities as market and business conditions change
• Communicate strategy, decisions, and outcomes clearly across executive, technical, and business audiences
• Treat the Appfire Platform as a product, with defined customers, value propositions, roadmaps, adoption goals, and success measures
• Define and deliver shared platform capabilities, including AI-enabled services, that increase customer value, enable revenue growth, accelerate product delivery, and reduce duplicated effort
• Drive adoption across Appfire by reducing integration friction, establishing effective rollout and migration plans, and partnering closely with product and engineering teams
• Establish metrics for platform adoption, reliability, cost efficiency, developer experience, time to market, and business impact
• Build strong feedback loops with internal product teams and other platform users to ensure the roadmap addresses their highest-value needs
• Communicate and demonstrate the value of the platform throughout the organization
• Lead the Innovation team in identifying, validating, incubating, and launching net-new product opportunities
• Build and actively manage a portfolio of product bets aligned with customer needs, market opportunity, and Appfire’s strategic advantages
• Apply a disciplined 0-to-1 approach to customer discovery, market validation, experimentation, business-case development, and commercial launch
• Establish clear stage gates and evidence-based criteria for advancing, changing, scaling, or stopping investments
• Partner with Go-to-Market leaders on positioning, pricing, packaging, launch, and early commercial traction
• Own the path from initial concept to measurable customer adoption and revenue
• Transition validated products into the appropriate scaling organization when they are ready to move beyond incubation
• Serve as Appfire’s senior product owner for the technical dimension of the Atlassian relationship
• Represent Appfire in technical, platform, and roadmap discussions with Atlassian
• Maintain a forward-looking view of changes to Atlassian’s platform, APIs, Forge architecture, Marketplace, security requirements, and developer ecosystem
• Translate ecosystem changes into product opportunities, competitive differentiation, internal readiness plans, and risk mitigation
• Influence Atlassian’s technical direction where possible by clearly representing Appfire’s needs, customer use cases, and strategic priorities
• Ensure relevant Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, and business teams understand upcoming changes and are prepared to respond
• Lead, develop, and grow a team of product managers and product leaders responsible for the Appfire Platform and Innovation portfolio
• Set clear expectations for product strategy, customer insight, commercial thinking, execution quality, and accountability
• Recruit and retain strong product talent while building a durable leadership bench and succession pipeline
• Coach team members to take on broader and more complex product leadership responsibilities
• Establish an effective operating cadence for planning, decision-making, performance management, and cross-functional alignment
• Communicate progress, outcomes, risks, and decisions effectively at every level of the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressively responsible product management experience, including 5+ years leading teams of product managers or product leaders
• Demonstrated success defining and scaling cloud platforms, shared services, APIs, or developer-facing capabilities in a SaaS, XaaS, or consumption-based business
• Proven experience taking net-new, 0-to-1 products from discovery through launch, customer adoption, and commercial traction
• Strong technical fluency across APIs, authentication and authorization, cloud architecture, high availability, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance
• Experience translating platform investments into measurable outcomes such as revenue growth, faster time to market, increased adoption, improved productivity, lower operating cost, or greater reliability
• Commercial ownership of a significant software portfolio, including P&L, revenue, or equivalent business accountability
• Experience owning or contributing to a strategic technology-platform or partner relationship
• Strong executive judgment and communication skills, with the ability to create alignment through ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex tradeoffs
• A track record of building, coaching, and retaining high-performing product teams
• An MBA is preferred
• Experience building within the Atlassian ecosystem, including Forge, Marketplace, and Atlassian APIs
• Experience operating cloud services at significant scale, ideally exceeding 100 million daily service calls
• Commercial ownership of a XaaS portfolio exceeding $50 million in annual recurring revenue
• Experience building AI-enabled platform capabilities or commercial AI products
