AI Engineer

Strayos builds visual AI technology for mining and heavy-industry operations, transforming multimodal field data into digital twins and decision intelligence. The AI Engineer will develop, evaluate, and deploy multimodal, visual, agentic, geospatial, and digital-twin AI systems, while creating reliable datasets, evaluation frameworks, and production infrastructure for industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Adapt, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy vision-language and multimodal foundation models for visual question answering, grounding, classification, detection, segmentation, change analysis, report generation, and spatial reasoning
• Create agents that plan multi-step visual workflows, select and call computer-vision or geospatial tools, maintain context, verify intermediate outputs, quantify uncertainty, and involve a human when confidence is insufficient
• Develop models and algorithms that reason over orthomosaics, terrain and surface models, meshes, point clouds, LiDAR, raster and vector layers, and time-series site captures
• Design data-collection and labeling strategies for models grounded in real sites, sensors, machines, and environmental conditions. Establish annotation ontologies, quality controls, lineage, versioning, privacy and safety practices, and representative evaluation sets
• Build modular training and inference pipelines, APIs, batch and streaming workflows, model registries, observability, rollback paths, and cloud or edge deployment strategies. Optimize latency, memory, throughput, reliability, and cost without compromising measurable quality
