Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Ballistics Engineer (4+ yrs Industry Experience)

X-Bow Systems is hiring a Solid Rocket Motor Ballistics Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of solid rocket motors. The role focuses on motor analysis and performance optimization, prototype testing, manufacturing techniques, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design and analysis of solid rocket motor components and systems
• Collaborate with propulsion, materials, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions
• Conduct numerical simulations and analyses to optimize motor performance, including thrust, burn rate, and pressure profiles
• Perform laboratory and ground-based testing of solid rocket motor prototypes
• Evaluate and implement advanced manufacturing techniques for motor production
• Contribute to the development of testing procedures and safety protocols
• Document design processes, results, and findings for internal and external stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in solid propulsion technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Strong background in solid rocket motor design, analysis, and testing
• Proficiency in engineering software tools for simulation and analysis
• Familiarity with propulsion system integration and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical team members
