Project Manager - Michigan and Ohio

Kardex is a global manufacturer of dynamic storage, retrieval, and distribution systems, including automated storage and retrieval systems. The Project Manager will lead construction, engineering, warehouse, automation, and intralogistics projects from kickoff through completion while managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and customer satisfaction. The role coordinates engineering, operations, supply chain, contractors, vendors, installation partners, and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management — Lead construction, engineering, warehouse, automation, and intralogistics projects from kickoff through completion
• Project Planning — Develop project schedules, milestones, budgets, resources, and delivery plans
• Cross-Functional Coordination — Coordinate engineering, operations, supply chain, contractors, vendors, installation teams, and service teams
• Customer Management — Serve as a primary customer contact, manage expectations, communicate progress, and resolve project issues
• Financial Management — Track project budgets, costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance
• Change Management — Identify scope changes, evaluate impacts, and support change-order discussions and approvals
• Risk Management — Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address issues that could affect cost, schedule, or quality
• Construction & Installation Coordination — Coordinate contractors, equipment installation, site activities, commissioning, and project closeout when applicable
• Project Documentation — Maintain project schedules, reports, budgets, meeting notes, action items, and other project documentation
• Process Improvement — Help improve project management processes, tools, templates, and workflows
• Project Closeout — Ensure successful commissioning, customer acceptance, documentation, and final project completion

Requirements:

• Candidates must reside in Michigan or Ohio
• Experience managing construction, engineering, warehouse, automation, material handling, manufacturing, or intralogistics projects
• Experience managing projects involving multiple teams, contractors, vendors, or technical disciplines
• Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination skills
• Ability to manage projects from initial planning through installation, commissioning, and completion
• Experience working with engineering, operations, supply chain, contractors, or installation teams
• Strong customer communication and relationship-management skills
• Comfortable managing project budgets, forecasts, scope changes, and project costs
• Strong problem-solving and risk-management skills
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, drawings, layouts, and project specifications
• Experience with project management software and tools
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
• Familiarity with warehouse automation, ASRS, material handling, manufacturing systems, or similar technologies is a plus
• AutoCAD or similar technical software experience is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field is preferred but not required depending on experience
