Sales Development Representative

Slang AI is transforming restaurant customer engagement through conversational AI that delivers seamless voice interactions and improved guest experiences. The Sales Development Representative will drive outbound prospecting by researching restaurant operators, crafting personalized outreach, initiating conversations with decision-makers, qualifying opportunities, and collaborating with Account Executives and Marketing to build pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• You proactively identify and research restaurant operators that match our Ideal Customer Profile, building a pipeline of well-qualified prospects week over week
• You execute with daily discipline - 100+ outbound touchpoints per day, 5+ new prospects added to pipeline - regardless of how the previous day went
• You consistently set 40+ qualified appointments per month (3+ locs), resulting in 20+ completed per month, handing off to Account Executives with enough context for them to run a great discovery call
• You use active listening and smart questioning in your outreach and early conversations to surface real pain points around staffing, call volume, and guest experience
• You collaborate openly with your AEs and the Marketing team, sharing what's resonating in the field and contributing to a unified, high-impact go-to-market message
• You leverage AI tools and your own creativity to continuously test and improve your outreach sequences, subject lines, and call openers
• You track your own funnel metrics with precision and come to 1:1s with data, hypotheses, and a clear plan to close the gap when you're behind

Requirements:

• Experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or SDR/BDR work - you've made the calls, sent the sequences, and learned what works
• Strong verbal and written communication - you can hook attention fast, conduct high quality prospect discovery and articulate value without jargon
• A competitive nature grounded in curiosity - you want to know how you rank, why you rank there, and what you're going to do about it
• Process orientation with adaptability - you thrive on structure and routine, and you can pivot your approach when the data tells you to
• Active listening as a genuine skill, not a talking point - you take in what prospects say and reflect it back in ways that make them feel understood
• AI fluency: you actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work for research, copy iteration, and productivity - not just awareness, but real, habitual use
• Humility and a hunger for feedback - you don't just tolerate coaching, you seek it out
• Preferred: experience in SaaS, hospitality technology, or selling to restaurant operators
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
