Data Analyst / Data Scientist (Utility Analytics)

Skill is seeking a Data Analyst / Data Scientist to join its Customer Analytics and Digital Products team for a high-impact utility analytics project. The role analyzes large-scale utility and customer data, evaluates digital products, builds Power BI reporting tools, and delivers insights to improve business decisions and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze large utility datasets—including AMI usage, Customer Care & Billing (CC&B), and customer engagement data—to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and quality issues
• Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visual summaries to track product performance, billing outcomes, and key customer metrics
• Support customer-facing digital products (e.g., rate recommendation tools and bill comparison features) using historical usage and billing data
• Track and analyze website and digital engagement metrics (such as page views, clicks, and user interactions)
• Partner closely with Product Owners, software engineers, and business SMEs to support data integrations, user testing, and product enhancements
• Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights and present recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders

Requirements:

• Direct experience working with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and utility customer usage data
• 2+ years of professional data analysis experience, with a proven track record of reviewing large data extracts/dumps to identify trends and data anomalies
• Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and data visualization
• Experience with Databricks or working with large, multi-source datasets
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong data validation and problem-solving skills, extreme attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for a regulated environment
• Experience with Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) data and tools
• Proficiency with Google Analytics or other web/digital engagement tracking platforms
• Proven track record developing recurring customer analytics reports and tracking digital product adoption
