Senior Software Developer / Infrastructure Currency Engineer

SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Developer / Infrastructure Currency Engineer to support application-level technical currency for the IRS Common API Services environment. The successful candidate will perform software-engineering modifications necessary to keep Java, Spring Boot, middleware, OpenShift, and Linux-hosted applications current, secure, compatible, and supportable.

Responsibilities:

• Upgrade application Java/JDK versions
• Support Java and application-runtime currency
• Support middleware-version currency
• Upgrade application libraries and dependencies
• Identify obsolete or unsupported software dependencies
• Remediate vulnerable application dependencies
• Support application certificate-renewal changes
• Support application credential and secret changes
• Implement interface modifications
• Implement schema changes
• Perform secure-coding remediation
• Evaluate application compatibility with OpenShift and RHEL/Linux environments
• Conduct developer-level validation
• Support application release preparation
• Prepare rollback and recovery inputs
• Maintain application configuration baselines
• Maintain application dependency inventories
• Document technical-currency modifications
• Produce technical remediation evidence
• Support modernization and technical-currency work packages
• Support Government technical reviews and deployment activities
• Maintain technical and as-built documentation
• Provide technical knowledge transfer when required
