Technology Product Owner – Retail Services | 13 -month Fixed-Term Contract

The Role You Could Play

MECCA is continuing to grow at pace, and we’re looking for a Technology Product Owner to help shape, prioritise and deliver improvements across our Retail Services technology landscape. You’ll work closely with retail operations, store technology, vendors and internal technology teams to support the systems that power our stores — including point of sale, mobile retail apps, new store openings and major business transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and prioritising the Retail Services technology backlog in Jira
• Gathering requirements, breaking down work and translating business needs into clear delivery outcomes
• Acting as the link between retail stakeholders, internal technology teams and external vendors
• Supporting POS, mobile POS and related store technology improvements
• Managing multiple initiatives at once across BAU, continuous improvement and larger project work
• Supporting change governance, documentation and CAB processes for releases and enhancements
• Working with store and retail operations teams to test changes, gather feedback and validate solutions in real retail environments
• Providing level-three escalation support for retail technology issues where required

What You Will Bring

• Background as a Technology Product Owner, Business Analyst, Functional Analyst or similar
• Strong business analysis capability — requirements gathering, stakeholder management, process mapping and delivery support
• Experience working in retail, store technology, POS, digital, operations or another fast-paced customer-facing environment
• Confidence working with vendors and internal technology teams to shape practical outcomes
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities, projects and support requests without losing momentum
• Comfortable working in Jira and documenting decisions, requirements and changes in Confluence or similar
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have:

• Point of sale experience, mobile retail app exposure, Retail Directions experience, or experience supporting technology across a large store network.
• No Retail Directions experience? No problem — if you understand retail systems, POS fundamentals and how stores operate, you’ll be able to pick up the platform.

This is a Hybrid, 4 days in office role based in Richmond and is offered as a 13 month fixed-term contract. MECCA moves quickly, so this will suit someone who enjoys variety, can context-switch across multiple priorities and is comfortable getting close to the store environment when testing or rolling out change.

You’ll be joining a supportive team with strong onboarding, exposure to stores and the DC, and plenty of opportunity to make practical improvements across the retail technology landscape.
