Healthcare Supply Chain Specialist (IT/Clinical Info Specialist)

Staritas is a company focused on healthcare solutions, and they are seeking a Principal Healthcare Supply Chain Specialist to oversee multi-layered projects related to healthcare information technology systems. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to evaluate healthcare technology vendors, leading sourcing projects, and ensuring technical accuracy in reports.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes information technology price quotations for equipment and software from a financial perspective and provides hospitals with information and resources to facilitate price negotiations with vendors
• Analyzes utilization trends across departments and/or facilities to identify opportunities for utilization optimization that may result in cost savings and/or reduced waste
• Analyzes market alternatives and market share data to identify potential opportunities for standardization/market shifts to mitigate disruptions with technologies or supplies
• Identifies purchase, lease/rental, and service contract pricing benchmarks using Staritas' internal database applications
• Assists Staritas member facilities with IT capital equipment planning, and budgeting
• Routinely surveys client requests and feedback to identify trends, deficits, etc. Proactively encourages the use of services to clients in correlation with other requests when opportunities present themselves. Collect specific client feedback whenever possible
• Reviews/edits/approves comparative and market intelligence reports before they are sent to clients. Works with individual analysts as needed to ensure technical accuracy and proper clinical focus in all reports
• Oversees and coordinates work on large projects related to information systems, software, and services. Provides input and assistance on projects and reports involving multiple technologies
• Leads Sourcing projects and coordinates calls with Staritas analysts, clinical engineers, and clients. Develops new RFP questionnaires, reviews and analyzes vendor RFP responses, and makes vendor/product purchase recommendations based on technical specifications, quoted pricing, and proposed service and support options
• Works with Team Managers to develop new reports, as well as new service offerings to help the team keep evolving in meeting client needs
• Educates new analysts and team members on capital and supply databases, the Staritas website, and department protocols
• Assists during the interview, selection, and training process when new personnel are hired
• Serves as a liaison for development efforts related to GSCS, with regard specifically to development initiatives, testing, and issue resolution
• Supports sales teams using web conferencing to perform demos and provide additional sales pitch and selling strategies to help reps to close sales
• Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, hosts technology demonstrations and webinars on updated and new products
• Attends and presents at trade shows and conferences relevant to their subject matter expertise to promote Staritas as a thought leader in the healthcare arena to help drive Staritas' continued growth and expansion
• Provides subject matter expertise within capital, supply, and services to be able to provide guidance throughout Staritas
• Ability to work well with colleagues across departments in the organization
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service, written communication, and presentation skills
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients by routinely keeping them informed of project status and developments

Requirements:

• Five (5) or more years' experience in healthcare IT systems assessment, selection, procurement, and installation, and/or a related role as an experienced clinical advisor for IT systems development and user training (e.g., acute care nursing/nursing education or healthcare consulting background). Experience beyond general hospital supply chain is required
• High-level Familiarity with clinical and healthcare IT systems and software applications, clinical workflows, and terminology in the healthcare industry
• Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration
• Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical specifications
• Ability to conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in healthcare IT procurement, healthcare IT systems, and related devices and software
• Ability to lead, organize and manage multiple concurrent tasks related to clinical information system projects
• Knowledge of database management, data integration, and data analytics tools
• Ability to Identify, evaluate, and select vendors for healthcare IT solutions. Conduct thorough assessments of vendor capabilities and offerings
• Ability to meet virtually with healthcare IT professionals and project managers, lead meetings, and make recommendations related to the selection of healthcare IT systems and software solutions
• Ability to express self effectively and concisely both orally and in writing and to quickly grasp the operating principles of previously unfamiliar technology
• Should be able to independently, reliably, and effectively manage changing priorities for multiple simultaneous tasks
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, healthcare information management (HIM), health informatics, or a related field
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or certifications in clinical informatics or business applications
• Clinical background (e.g., nursing, clinical engineering, medical technology) preferred to understand clinical workflows and challenges
