Business Technology Analyst – Data, Automation and AI

Altarum is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the health of individuals with fewer financial resources. They are seeking a Business Technology Analyst to enhance the use of data, automation, and AI within the organization by developing reporting solutions and streamlining processes.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models that support informed decision-making
• Use Excel, Power Query, SQL, and related tools to prepare, analyze, and present business data
• Partner with internal stakeholders to translate business questions and requirements into useful reporting solutions
• Validate results, investigate discrepancies, and document data sources, calculations, and reporting logic
• Support reporting that draws from systems such as Deltek Costpoint, UKG, SQL Server, and SharePoint
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, streamline processes, and improve the employee experience
• Build and maintain low-code workflows using Power Automate and related Microsoft tools
• Develop practical solutions involving forms, approvals, notifications, data collection, and information sharing
• Use approved AI tools to support analysis, research, documentation, and process improvement
• Test AI-assisted workflows and evaluate outputs for accuracy, privacy, security, and appropriate use
• Create reusable prompts, AI-assisted tools, and guidance for common business needs
• Help employees understand and effectively use new automation and AI-enabled solutions
• Configure and maintain SharePoint lists, libraries, pages, views, and basic permissions
• Build straightforward solutions that support document management, workflows, collaboration, and information sharing
• Troubleshoot common issues and maintain clear supporting documentation
• Assist with the ongoing improvement and adoption of Microsoft 365 tools across the organization

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three to five years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, business systems, reporting, process improvement, or a related area
• Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards
• Experience using Excel, SQL, Power Query, or comparable data tools
• The ability to analyze and validate data, investigate discrepancies, and clearly communicate findings
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into reports, workflows, or technology solutions
• The ability to independently manage defined assignments or small projects from planning through delivery
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• The ability to explain technical information clearly to nontechnical employees
• Sound judgment when working with sensitive data and emerging technologies
• Curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to independently learn and apply new tools
• Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available
• All work must be performed within the continental U.S. for the duration of employment, unless required by contract
• Ability to work core hours aligned with Eastern Time, unless otherwise approved by your manager
• Remote employees must maintain a dedicated, ergonomically appropriate workspace free from distractions, with reliable internet and a mobile device that supports efficient work
• Travel Requirements: <10%
• Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, or another low-code platform
• Hands-on experience using generative AI for analysis, research, documentation, or workflow improvement
• Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, project management, or other corporate functions
• Familiarity with data governance, information security, privacy, or responsible AI practices
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, UKG, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms
• Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, research, federal contracting, or other regulated environment
• Experience developing user guidance, documentation, or training for new technology solutions
