About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within a food service environment, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. This position supports the kitchen and dining staff by efficiently managing the flow of clean items, which directly impacts the overall guest experience and operational efficiency. The Dishwasher must adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment. This role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods while maintaining a consistent pace. Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety guidelines.
• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and hygiene practices in a food service environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality to maintain consistent kitchen operations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a dishwashing or similar role within the food service industry.
• Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Basic understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities:

• Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment and manual methods as needed.
• Sort and organize clean dishes and kitchen tools, ensuring they are stored properly and readily accessible for kitchen and service staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, floors, and dishwashing machines, following all health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the removal and disposal of trash and recycling materials in accordance with sanitation guidelines.
• Follow all instructions from supervisors and kitchen management to support overall kitchen operations and maintain a smooth workflow.

Skills:

The required skills such as basic reading enable the Dishwasher to comprehend safety instructions and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with health standards. Sanitization skills are critical for effectively cleaning and disinfecting dishes and kitchen areas to prevent contamination.
