Engineering Associate II- Department of Housing & Community Development

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Engineering Associate II to prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with standard engineering practices. This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities and requires moderate supervision from a technical superior.

Responsibilities:

• An Engineering Associate II prepares designs, specifications and cost estimates following standard engineering practices and procedures
• Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities
• Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior
• Employees in this class work a conventional workweek
• Work is performed primarily in an office where few hazards or discomforts are encountered
• Work requires minimal physical exertion

Requirements:

• Have a high school diploma or GED certification from an accredited institution
• Have two years of engineering design experience
• Have an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of engineering design standards and procedures
• Ability to perform engineering design calculations
• Ability to estimate construction and material costs
• Ability to write engineering specifications
• Ability to establish satisfactory relationships with others
• Ability to write correspondence and technical reports
