Position:             Groundskeeper

Department:       Sewailo Golf Course Maintenance

Job Summary:
Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction.  Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): 

1. Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.
2. Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
3. Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
4. Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material.
5. Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up)
6. Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
7. Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
8. Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
9. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
10. Regular and reliable attendance.
11. Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Grounds Keeping, equipment maintenance methods, tools and safety practices
2. Grass and plant care
3. Occupational hazards and required preventative measures.
4. Planting, cultivating and caring for shrubs and flowers.
5. The use of equipment and tools of the trade.
6. Use hand and power tools and equipment effectively and safely.
7. Work outside in varying weather conditions.
8. Follow oral and written instruction.
9. Bending, Lifting, Standing, and manual labor for long periods of time

Mandatory Requirements:

1. Experience working outdoors in Arizona.
2. Must be able to bend, stand, and lift at least 20lbs in an outdoor environment for the entire shift.

1. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
2. Must pass background check and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
