Intellectual Property Security Engineer

NVIDIA is a technology company advancing computer graphics, accelerated computing, and artificial intelligence. The Intellectual Property Security Engineer will protect hardware intellectual property by enabling secure-by-default workflows, developing security training and policies, and investigating threats to the integrity of NVIDIA's security infrastructure. The role also involves threat modeling, infrastructure security, risk prioritization, cross-functional collaboration, and engagement with senior management.

Responsibilities:

• As an engineer in NVIDIA's Hardware IP Security team you will play a vital role in protecting our intellectual property from malicious and accidental misuse by helping engineering teams build secure-by-default workflows and environments, crafting training materials, implementing security policies and methodologies, and investigating newly discovered threats to the integrity of NVIDIA's security infrastructure. This is a hands-on contributor role for someone who excels in an independent, fast-paced environment and who is as comfortable digging into requirements and development details as they are handling day-to-day organization tasks. You will understand security industry standards and enable others to follow those standards. You will define priorities, plan schedules, and build relationships with other teams. Extensive interpersonal collaboration with other Security, Hardware Engineering, and IT partners will enable you to improve existing practices and policies, and reduce the impact of security requirements on engineering productivity

Requirements:

• A mentality of improving the productivity and work experience of internal customers
• Established and led high-performing technical teams across hardware engineering and/or information security, driving multi-functional initiatives, mentoring engineers, and delivering secure, reliable systems from design through deployment
• Strong threat-modeling experience, including data flows, trust boundaries, STRIDE-style analysis, and translating findings into mitigations
• Ability to prioritize practical risk reduction in a fast-moving engineering environment
• Experience securing Linux-based on-prem or cloud infrastructure at scale, including authentication, authorization, hardening, patching, logging, and incident response
• Comfortable presenting to and working with senior management to convey risk and work to prioritize mitigation
• Bachelors, Masters in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience
• 5+ years as technical team lead bridging engineering, product, and customers, translating requirements into actionable plans and steering the team to successful outcomes
• Led and/or mentored a support team of engineers, coaching on technical and customer-facing skills while driving accountability and continuous improvement
• Experience securing AI-assisted developer workflows, including connected CLIs, agent permissions, prompt injection, data leakage, and autonomous execution controls
• Experience with security monitoring, audit logging, detection engineering, and investigation of suspicious activity
• Familiarity with EDA workflows, semiconductor design environments, or other large-scale engineering/HPC environments
