Data Engineer

Damoov develops telematics software and APIs used by various sectors including fleet operators and insurance companies. They are seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain the data infrastructure, develop data pipelines, and ensure reliable access to data for analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain data pipelines that process telematics and mobility data
• Develop workflows for ingesting, transforming, validating, and storing data
• Improve data quality, monitoring, and operational reliability
• Support analytics, reporting, and customer-facing data products
• Optimize database performance and data processing workflows
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to support new platform features
• Maintain documentation for data pipelines and internal processes
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and help resolve production problems
• Help improve the scalability and performance of the data platform
• Support ongoing improvements to data architecture and engineering practices

Requirements:

• Experience in data engineering, backend engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality practices
• Experience working with large datasets
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working with cross-functional engineering and product teams
• Experience with streaming data or real-time data processing
• Experience with cloud data platforms and distributed data systems
• Familiarity with telematics, geospatial data, IoT, logistics, or mobility technology
• Experience supporting machine learning or analytics workloads
• Experience working in a startup or growing technology company
