Mechanical Field Engineer

Bechtel Corporation is a leader in construction and project management, seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer to support field execution of gas turbine and SCR installation activities. This role involves technical coordination, inspection support, quantity tracking, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches
• Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required
• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with rotating equipment installation on industrial or power projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical erection, alignment, and setting activities
• Experience coordinating heavy lifts, rigging, and vendor interfaces
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and OEM documentation
• Familiarity with equipment QA/QC and inspection requirements
• Experience managing RFIs, redlines, and turnover documentation
• Strong coordination and field problem-solving skills
• Gas turbine installation experience preferred
• Experience supporting mechanical completion and commissioning activities preferred
• Industrial or power generation project experience preferred
