Healthcare Data Engineer

Consilient Interventional Healthcare delivers interventional psychiatry grounded in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary model of care. The Healthcare Data Engineer owns the company’s healthcare data platform and is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's healthcare data infrastructure, business intelligence platforms, reporting systems, and automation processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL database, stored procedures, views, and data models supporting operational and financial processes
• Maintain business logic supporting clinician compensation, hospital invoicing, insurance claims, payer contracts, and provider reimbursement
• Design and maintain supporting tables, reference data, and ETL processes required for downstream reporting and automation
• Optimize Azure SQL performance through efficient query design, indexing, and database tuning
• Troubleshoot data integrity issues and document business logic and database structures
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data pipelines integrating EMRs, hospital systems, internal applications, and third-party data sources
• Support onboarding of hospitals by adapting ingestion and transformation processes
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across operational reporting systems
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and operational reporting solutions
• Build reporting supporting clinician compensation, hospital invoicing, revenue cycle, provider productivity, and financial performance
• Design dashboards and visualizations that provide meaningful operational and financial insights
• Modify reports and business logic as organizational operations evolve
• Develop and maintain Python applications, API integrations, and automation workflows
• Maintain EMR integrations supporting claims, clinical, and revenue cycle reporting
• Build automation that reduces manual operational work, including electronic claims submission, patient creation, appointment creation, and other workflow automation
• Evaluate AI and automation technologies that improve efficiency and scalability
• Recommend solutions for architecture, reporting, automation, and cloud performance
• Identify technical opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, and data quality
• Escalate business logic or financial-impact decisions requiring operational approval
• Partner with operational leadership to develop reporting and automation solutions
• Collaborate with billing, finance, clinical operations, and third-party vendors
• Support onboarding of new facilities, providers, and operational workflows
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong SQL development experience, including stored procedures, joins, data modeling, views, and troubleshooting
• Experience with business intelligence tools
• Experience with healthcare billing, revenue cycle, claims, clinical, operational, or financial data
• Understanding of U.S. healthcare revenue cycle concepts, including claims, charges, payments, adjustments, payer mix, reimbursement, and accounts receivable
• Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a part-time role while communicating clearly with leadership
• Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools effectively while maintaining validation, accuracy, and documentation standards
• Experience with Python development, API integrations, ETL workflows, or automation scripts
• Experience with healthcare claims submission workflows
• Experience supporting physician groups, hospital-based practices, outpatient clinics, or behavioral health organizations
• Experience with payer contracts, professional component billing, hospital invoicing, or provider compensation models
• Experience building revenue cycle dashboards or accounts receivable reporting
• Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, HIPAA, and secure handling of patient information
