Senior Golang Developer – Forward Deployment Engineer

Grey Parrot Systems is a women-owned IT services firm specializing in AI-first digital transformation. They are seeking a Lead / Senior Golang Developer to lead modernization initiatives for a healthcare client, focusing on reverse engineering and business rule extraction of legacy T-SQL code using AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Extraction Pod responsible for analyzing and reverse-engineering approximately 50K lines of legacy T-SQL code — stored procedures, triggers, DDL scripts, and views
• Build and analyze Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) and dependency graphs to identify complex code patterns — dynamic SQL, cursors, temporary tables, and other migration challenges
• Drive business rule extraction using AI-assisted pipelines — generating traceable rule narratives and validated functional specifications
• Author comprehensive Gherkin / BDD scenarios and functional specifications based on extracted business rules
• Identify rule conflicts, ambiguities, and gaps in the legacy codebase — documenting findings and driving resolution
• Facilitate Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) reviews with SMEs, business analysts, and solution architects to validate extracted rules and specifications
• Leverage LLM-assisted tools — Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, and AI spec-transpilers — to accelerate extraction, analysis, and documentation workflows
• Apply healthcare domain expertise — claims validation, prior authorization, DMEPOS, and payer / provider workflows — to ensure accurate business rule interpretation
• Collaborate with forward deployment engineering teams and client stakeholders to align modernization outputs with target architecture and business objectives
• Deliver validated functional specifications and technical documentation as key modernization workstream outputs
• Mentor and guide extraction pod team members on Golang, static analysis, and AI-assisted modernization best practices

Requirements:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years as a Tech Lead
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) — static code analysis, AST generation, and parser / tool development
• Hands-on experience with reverse engineering legacy T-SQL codebases — stored procedures, triggers, DDL scripts, and views
• Ability to build and analyze Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) and dependency graphs — identifying complex code patterns including dynamic SQL, cursors, temporary tables, and migration challenges
• Strong experience authoring Gherkin / BDD specifications, BRDs, PRDs, and functional / technical documentation
• Hands-on experience with LLM-assisted extraction and development tools — Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted workflows
• Healthcare domain experience — claims processing, prior authorization, DMEPOS, or payer / provider workflows
• Experience facilitating Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) reviews with SMEs, business analysts, and solution architects
• Python proficiency — scripting, automation, and data processing
• PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
• Azure cloud platform experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills — comfortable working directly with client stakeholders, SMEs, and architects
• Experience with Sonata's Frontier RE pipeline or similar legacy modernization platforms
• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI, or other healthcare data standards
• Experience with additional cloud platforms — AWS or GCP
• Background in enterprise legacy modernization — COBOL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL migration programs
• Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architecture patterns
• Experience with additional static analysis frameworks or parser toolkits
