We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Advisor on a 2-year fixed-term contract, based in our Leederville office.

About the role

We're seeking a proactive individual to support medium to high-value bid and contract activities mainly in the maintenance area. This role is great for someone looking to extend their experience in the construction field, with opportunities to work on medium to high-value projects and a variety of different areas.

This includes planning, developing and establishing medium to high value & complexity contracts and agreements mainly for the procurement of maintenance services and works and can including but not limited to goods and services, minor work, major works, equipment, design and construct, consulting services and Panel/Preferred Supplier Agreements.

What you can expect with this role

• Review and verify the adequacy of shopping carts received for the acquisition of goods and services to ensure that they are accurate and clearly specify the goods and/or services to be acquired.  
• Solicit bids for the acquisition of goods and services as required and prepare recommendations for approval.  
• Purchase goods and services as required to established standards and specifications, ensuring value for money principles are applied. 
• Provide procurement support to Groups, Branches and Regions to agreed service levels.

Your skills and experience

• Must have recent Purchasing experience and knowledge of SAP and/or SRM in a multi-discipline engineering focused commercial organisation.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of contemporary Procurement theory and practice, including sound understanding of electronic trading applications and processes. 
• Strong ability to build, influence and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Strong computing skills, including ability to use Microsoft suite of systems and demonstrate the capability to learn and apply the Corporations suite of business computing applications.
