Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Databricks/AJO)

Navolytics is a technology consulting company that delivers specialized solutions in Azure data analytics and machine learning. They are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the reliability and quality of data and analytics solutions built on Azure, Databricks, and Adobe Journey Optimizer.

Responsibilities:

• Developing comprehensive test plans, test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases
• Performing functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing
• Testing data pipelines and ETL or ELT workflows built on Azure and Databricks
• Validating data transformations, mappings, calculations, schemas, and business rules
• Comparing source and target datasets to confirm completeness, consistency, and accuracy
• Testing Databricks notebooks, workflows, scheduled jobs, Delta Lake tables, and data integrations
• Validating REST APIs, JSON payloads, event-based integrations, and system interfaces
• Testing Adobe Journey Optimizer journeys, events, audiences, segments, personalization rules, and messaging workflows
• Verifying customer profile data, journey qualification logic, and channel delivery behavior
• Performing manual testing of complex, distributed systems and cloud-based integrations
• Identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking software and data defects
• Collaborating with engineering teams to reproduce issues and verify defect resolution
• Conducting regression testing before production releases
• Supporting user acceptance testing and release-readiness assessments
• Reviewing technical and business requirements to identify risks, gaps, and testability concerns
• Monitoring testing progress and communicating quality risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Creating and maintaining QA documentation, test evidence, defect reports, and validation records
• Contributing to test automation for repeatable data, API, and application testing
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Helping establish consistent quality assurance standards across client projects

Requirements:

• Strong experience with quality assurance methodologies, testing processes, and software development life cycles
• Experience developing test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test documentation
• Hands-on experience executing functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing
• Strong experience testing data pipelines, ETL or ELT processes, APIs, and cloud-based analytics platforms
• Experience validating data transformations, business rules, mappings, schemas, and source-to-target accuracy
• Solid manual testing experience for complex, distributed applications and integrations
• Experience working with Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or related services
• Experience testing solutions built on Azure Databricks
• Familiarity with Databricks notebooks, jobs, workflows, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architectures
• Experience testing REST APIs and working with JSON-based requests and responses
• Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting
• The ability to analyze large datasets and identify inconsistencies, defects, and unexpected results
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote, client-facing consulting environment
• Experience testing Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Experience Platform, or similar customer journey and marketing automation platforms
• Familiarity with customer journeys, audience segmentation, personalization, customer profiles, and event-driven messaging
• Experience with automated testing tools or frameworks
• Basic scripting or programming skills using Python, JavaScript, or a similar language
• Experience developing automated tests for APIs, data pipelines, or data quality validation
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks and automated reconciliation processes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within deployment workflows
• Experience with Git or another version-control platform
• Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Postman, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with performance, security, accessibility, or compliance testing
• Experience with data privacy, consent, security, and regulatory requirements
• Prior consulting or professional services experience
• Experience mentoring QA engineers or leading testing activities across a project
