About this role
#1 Cochran is the largest and most recognized automotive retailer in Southwestern Pennsylvania, seeking a business-focused IT Business Systems Analyst to help drive better decisions across the organization through data, analytics, and process improvement. This role involves partnering with leaders to turn data into insights, improve processes, and support informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leaders to understand problems and support better operational and financial decisions through data
- Translate business needs into insights, data models, and reporting solutions
- Design and deliver dashboards and reporting (Power BI, Solver, Tekion) that are clear, actionable, and trusted
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and contribute to discussions that drive action
- Help improve data consistency, definitions, and flow across systems and teams
- Support key initiatives including system modernization (Tekion), pricing and analytics capabilities, and data standardization
- Work within the IT Project Management Office framework to prioritize and deliver solutions aligned to business impact
- Contribute to pilots of new tools and approaches, helping evaluate effectiveness and support adoption
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience working with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of SQL Server/Microsoft Fabric and data modeling concepts (Power Query, DAX, etc.)
- Experience working with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to connect data to business context
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain insights clearly to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships across teams
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Curiosity and a desire to grow into a more strategic, business-facing role
- Having a strong attention to detail or quality
- Programming knowledge of Python or R is a plus
