Job Description:
UST is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to support Walmart's retail technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java backend development, Python scripting, SQL, and a strong retail background. The candidate must possess hands-on experience with Walmart retail systems and be capable of building scalable backend applications, analyzing retail data, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of retail item management, product master data, SKU/UPC mapping, pricing and promotions, inventory management, merchandising, and product lifecycle management.

Note: Walmart experience is mandatory.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• Develop Python scripts for automation, data extraction, and data analysis.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for large retail datasets.
• Analyze and validate retail product master data, including item setup, categorization, and SKU/UPC mapping.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues and system integration gaps.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide production support for critical retail applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, merchandising teams, and technical stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and adhere to SDLC best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation and mentor junior team members.
• Utilize Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Work with cloud platforms and event-driven architectures as needed.
