Engineering Specialist IV

FedEx Freight is a leading logistics company, and they are seeking an Engineering Specialist IV to perform engineering work as a technical expert on complex subjects. The role involves supporting management with the analysis and application of complex information and providing leadership on large project efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas
• Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts
• Performs one or more of the following activities: Configuration Management, System Administration, Security Administration, Network Administration, Development System Implementation, and/or Production System Implementation
• Provide support or lead activities related to change management, outage management, and/or project management
• Provides mentoring for the development of less senior staff
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent work experience plus seven (7) years of experience in information technology or engineering environment
• Knowledge of capital planning and forecasting
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills, hardware, software, and systems
• Ability to mentor, coach and as a knowledge resource to other employees
