Growth Marketing Director (Remote)

Cengage is a leading educational content provider, seeking a Growth Marketing Director to drive sustainable revenue growth through data-driven marketing strategies. The role involves building and scaling growth initiatives, collaborating with various teams, and optimizing customer acquisition and retention efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive growth marketing strategy aligned to business goals
• Identify and prioritize high‑impact growth opportunities across the customer lifecycle
• Own growth objectives and key results, forecasting, and performance reporting
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with internal partners within Marketing, Portfolio, Product, Sales, etc
• Lead agencies and external partners as needed
• Lead multi‑channel acquisition strategies (paid media, SEO, content, partnerships, referrals, ABM, etc.)
• Optimize CAC, LTV, and conversion rates through experimentation and testing
• Oversee campaign planning, execution, and optimization
• Build and scale lifecycle marketing programs (onboarding, engagement, upsell, retention)
• Partner with Product and Customer teams to improve activation and reduce churn
• Leverage marketing automation and personalization
• Establish a strong experimentation culture (A/B testing, cohort analysis, funnel optimization)
• Use data and insights to inform decisions and continuously improve performance
• Partner with Analytics to define metrics, dashboards, and attribution models

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in growth, performance, or digital marketing
• Proven track record of driving measurable growth in revenue, users, or pipeline
• Deep expertise in paid acquisition channels (Google, Meta, etc.)
• Strong analytical mindset with hands‑on experience using data to inform decisions
• Experience with experimentation frameworks and marketing technology stacks
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and partner management skills
• Experience in B2B / B2C / SaaS / e‑commerce
• Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and analytics tools
• Experience scaling growth in a fast‑paced or high‑growth environment
