Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I that will provide support to project leadership during the design phase as it relates to customer experience, financial performance, scheduling, estimating, design and planning resulting in a smooth transition to construction operations. This role will focus on stormwater issues and plans.
Responsibilities:
- Support the project team in achieving scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, an integrated team experience, construction readiness, and excellent financial performance
- Assist in regulatory approval and permitting process
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and contract manuals
- Identify technical design and specification concerns, escalate as needed to achieve resolution
- Participate in and contribute to project planning and environmental risk analysis
- Evaluate and offer solutions for environmental risks
- Maintain operational knowledge of environmental issues in construction, US EPA, ASTM, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures
- Serve as resource for environmental issues or concern
- Create, manage and design preliminary SWPPP design layouts and supporting documents for project pursuits
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field
- Minimum of two year's relevant experience
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Experience with stormwater issues and plans is highly desired
