Platform & Infrastructure Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Platform & Infrastructure Software Engineer to join a leading technology company in the network simulation and virtualization space. The role involves developing and supporting core platform services, virtualization infrastructure, automation frameworks, and cloud-based deployments for scalable network modeling and simulation environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain core simulation platform services, node drivers, and runtime components
• Manage virtualization environments including Libvirt/KVM, Docker, Proxmox, Nutanix, VMware, and cloud platforms
• Design, develop, and support REST APIs, SDKs, and automation integrations
• Implement infrastructure automation solutions using tools such as Ansible and pyATS
• Drive CI/CD processes, release management, and secure software development practices
• Develop and maintain automated testing, performance testing, and monitoring solutions

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure development experience
• Strong programming experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies including KVM, Libvirt, Docker, VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix, or Hyper-V
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, SDKs, and automation solutions
• Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and monitoring tools
