EPAM Systems is seeking a Data Software Engineer to join their Team within the Investment Systems organization. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting technology solutions that enhance liquid credit investment workflows, collaborating with various stakeholders to build scalable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support reliable software solutions that power liquid credit investment workflows
- Integrate data across the various systems used in credit investing to ensure consistency and reliable information exchange
- Apply hands-on knowledge of SQL Server (2016 or newer) to build and maintain database-driven solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front office, operations, and product stakeholders, to align on requirements and deliverables
- Tune database performance and preserve data accuracy and integrity across all managed systems
- Take part in system architecture discussions and help define and enhance engineering best practices
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents promptly to minimize business disruption
- Deliver clean, scalable, and well-documented code that supports long-term maintainability
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on data or backend development
- Solid hands-on expertise with SQL, including query optimization, stored procedures, and data modeling
- Proven ability to design and enhance reporting solutions using SSRS together with SQL-based data models
- Advanced skill in building and refining complex stored procedures and queries to satisfy demanding business needs
- Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented programming, and system design
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities focused on complex technical challenges
- Attention to detail combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel
- Solid English at B2 level or higher, in both written and spoken forms
- Prior experience in financial services or investment systems
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing or backend development tasks
- Familiarity with Allvue's cloud-native platform (Everest), particularly the trade and order management components
- Experience with AWS, covering cloud infrastructure, services, and deployment strategies
- Understanding of the trade lifecycle, order management systems, or portfolio management systems
- Hands-on exposure to modern software development practices such as CI/CD, DevOps, and microservices architectures
