Principal Hardware Design Engineer, Manager Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design

A New Beginning-Genesis 2 is seeking a Principal Hardware Design Engineer, Manager Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design. The role involves leading the design and development of cutting-edge network visibility platforms and managing cross-disciplinary engineering teams to drive product development from concept through production release.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the management and development of OEM relationships
• Author Schematics and manage PCB layout resources
• BOARD Design / Layout
• Develop state-of-the-art Network Visibility Hardware products and help guide the design of the next generations of product
• Lead a diverse team of HW, mechanical, and ECAD resources
• Lead all phases of hardware development from architecture through to production release
• Support sustaining efforts and implement changes to improve yields

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) design
• Ability to excel in a fast paced dynamic environment
• Proficient in authoring schematics and managing PCB layout using Cadence OrCad/Concept and Allegro, including defining PCB stackups and materials
• Assist in the management and development of OEM relationships
• Author Schematics and manage PCB layout resources
• BOARD Design / Layout
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 10 years relevant experience
• 5–7+ years of experience in hardware product development from concept and architecture through production release
• Direct people management experience leading and developing cross disciplinary engineering teams (HW, mechanical, ECAD, etc.)
• Experience designing complex hardware systems involving high speed networking, compute, FPGAs, or networking platforms
• Experience leading hardware development from architecture through production release for complex systems (e.g., networking, compute, FPGA based platforms)
• Experience with switching power supply design, high performance processors or embedded platforms, and working closely with RTL, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams on sustaining and yield improvement efforts
• Experience working in a cross functional environment (PM, FPGA/RTL, software, compliance, manufacturing) and supporting manufacturing yield improvement or sustaining efforts
• Hands on experience with high speed signal integrity, EMC design techniques, and resolving EMC or SI non compliance issues, including lab based debug and complex measurements
• Hands on experience with the design, development, and productization of computer networking equipment, including high performance processors or embedded platforms
• Practical experience with high speed signal integrity, EMC design techniques, and resolving EMC compliance issues, as well as PCB stackups and material selection
• Excellent verbal and written English skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Experience in product development from concept to production
• Experience with EMC design techniques and solving EMC non-compliance issues
• Experience with high performance processors and embedded platforms
• Experience with switching power supply design
• Experience with the design, development, and productization of computer networking equipment
• Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity concepts and practices
• Knowledge of PCB Stackup's, and understanding of materials
• Lead a diverse team of HW, mechanical, and ECAD resources
• Lead all phases of hardware development from architecture through to production release
• Strong analytical problem solving skills
• Strong de-bug skills and analytical problem solving
• Strong skills and experience in people-management and development
• Support sustaining efforts and implement changes to improve yields
• Networking experience is a strong plus
