Signal Energy is a company focused on engineering solutions, and they are seeking a Project Designer - Electrical. The role involves creating and revising high voltage transmission and distribution drawings, maintaining drawing files, and providing project support.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise protection/control drawings of high voltage transmission and distribution substations and lines, including:
- Single line, logic, three line and schematic diagrams
- Panel layouts, wiring diagrams and device developments
- Cable block diagrams and cable terminations
- Peer review of other’s drawings
- Maintain drawing files – archived, current and working revisions
- Update drawings to field as-built conditions
- Provide project support/office support as required
- Occasional travel to field sites or working at a client’s office may be required
Requirements:
- 5+ Years' Experience in Design of Transmission Level Substations (13.8kV – 500 kV)
- Electrical one-lines, schematics and wiring diagrams
- Low voltage auxiliary power systems (AC and DC station power)
- Cable and conduit schedules
- Protective Relay and Control Panel layouts and designs
- Familiarity with microprocessor relays and associated options/functionality – SEL, GE, etc
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting
- Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations
- Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD (2015 or later) – Advanced
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Word – Intermediate
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel – Intermediate
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Outlook – Intermediate
- Ability to lift / move equipment up to 15 lbs
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology
- MicroStation – Advanced/Intermediate
