Senior Software Engineer — PingOne Platform Administration & Security

Ping Identity is a company focused on securing digital experiences for users. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the PingOne Platform Administration team, where the role involves designing and developing backend services and APIs, as well as contributing to AI-related platform capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the PingOne Admin Experience engineering director
• Serve as a senior individual contributor on the PingOne Platform Administration team
• Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle, from requirements definition and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
• Design and develop backend services and APIs that support the PingOne Platform Administration capabilities
• Contribute to the development of AI-related platform tooling, including MCP server capabilities, developer tools, and supporting workflows
• Partner closely with product managers, QA, UX, and peer engineering teams across PingOne to deliver high-quality solutions
• Help shape technical direction, engineering standards, and system design decisions within the team
• Mentor other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and day-to-day collaboration
• Support operational excellence by improving observability, reliability, maintainability, and deployment safety of team-owned services

Requirements:

• 5-7+ years of professional software engineering experience, operating as a senior-level individual contributor on Agile teams
• Strong backend software development experience building production-grade services
• 3+ years of experience developing Java services
• Experience developing NodeJS services
• Experience developing SaaS applications
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud-native development practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production support
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including product management, QA, UX, and peer engineering teams
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills
• Strong service-side engineering fundamentals and ability to own features end-to-end
• Experience working in small, fast-moving Agile squads with high ownership
• Ability to balance near-term delivery with long-term maintainability
• Comfort working across backend-heavy projects while collaborating with frontend, QA, product, and platform stakeholders
• Some frontend experience, or willingness to contribute outside a narrow backend lane when needed
• Familiarity with CI/CD, test automation, and shipping safely to production
• Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment with peers across PingOne platform teams
• Interest in platform capabilities, developer experience, and customer-facing admin workflows
• Experience with TypeScript is highly desired
• Experience in the Identity Management field is highly desired
• Experience developing tools and skills for AI models is highly desired
• Experience developing MCP servers is highly desired
