Senior Software Engineer

Sigma360 is a Series-B company that delivers software and data to combat financial crime within global financial institutions. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain systems and applications for their financial crime investigation platform, focusing on building new features and modernizing existing ones.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with product and engineering to design and execute on scalable engineering solutions across backend, frontend, and data architecture
• Build and maintain production systems, including services (Go, Python, Node), the UI (React/Typescript), databases (PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Elasticsearch), all containerized on AWS
• Regularly participate in code reviews
• Weigh in on architectural decisions and participate in our RFC process
• Mentor and share knowledge with the rest of the team
• Profile production systems to identify performance issues or bugs by analyzing SQL queries and database performance, profiling application waits, tuning networks for latency

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a software development role
• Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
• Proficiency in Go / Golang, relational databases / SQL, and a scripting language of your choice
• Strong system design skills
• AWS expertise, including containerized workloads on managed services
• Strong debugging skills inside of distributed backend systems
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation with other engineers and be responsible for the code you ship
• US-based
• Background in financial services, payments, or regulatory technology
• Experience at an Enterprise SaaS firm
• A good eye for UI and UX
