Engineered Transportation International is seeking an IT Business Application Analyst to serve as a liaison between operational business units and the IT organization. The role involves providing functional solutions to business needs, assisting in business process mapping, and managing changes to specifications while ensuring accurate production data and system functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Be proficient with and maintain advanced knowledge of the in-house applications and the environments in which they operate, i.e.; Infor XA, Oracle, SQL Server, etc
- Maintain positive relationships with all internal business users
- Interact with business users, management and technical teams to lead development and integration projects, maintain and support application systems, develop and refine business processes, and serve as subject matter expert for both systems and processes
- Facilitate communication between business units and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Possesses a deep understanding of technological trends of the business and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to improve business results to business units and IT leadership
- Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the business, sales, manufacturing, procurement and be able to actively seek out ways to automate and improve business processes
- Provide to the business cost / benefit analysis on projects that are identified so that limited resources can be allocated to the highest return projects
- Partner with business units process owners on requirements, processes, and systems
- Analyze and evaluate information gathered from multiple units; resolve process and data conflict; organize and disseminate information to a more general understanding; distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Ensure production data is accurate and processing through efficient controls
- Ensure all production systems are up and running. If not, communicate issues, status, resolution and other pertinent issues among appropriate parties, including internal groups as well as outside contacts associated with that application or process that is being affected or may have failed
- Work with the applications manager to coordinate third parties for applications support, updates, and upgrades, resolve issues and generate solutions to help the business
- Actively learn about new business analytics products and processes
- Respond to user requests and internal case tickets to resolve issues
- Manage project requirements, scope, integration testing and user acceptance
- Produce impact analysis of business process changes to systems
- Support end to end processes and has intermediate level understanding of system touch points
- Participate in business process improvement meetings as needed
- Prepare and document solution design and process maps
- Collaborate with project teams on solution definition and validation
- Prepare and coordinate training for end users
- Travel to each facility as needed – 25%-50% travel will be required
Requirements:
- B.S. / B.A. degree
- 5 -7 years Mapics/XA ERP experience (or ERP/Manufacturing)
- Able to understand database files/table and develop SQLs
- Understanding of RPG/Java programming and Enterprise Integrator a plus
