Senior C++ Software Engineer

Nickerson Talent Solutions is hiring multiple Senior C++ Software Engineers to support advanced Command & Control (C2) software and operational radar/sensor integration programs within a highly mission-critical defense environment. The role involves developing and maintaining high-performance C/C++ software, integrating radar and sensor systems, and collaborating with engineering teams to support deployed operational systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-performance C/C++ software on Linux
• Integrate existing radar and tactical sensor systems into operational C2 software
• Process radar measurements, radar-generated tracks, and sensor data
• Support track management, correlation, sensor fusion, and situational awareness capabilities
• Integrate legacy radar and sensor interfaces into modern software architectures
• Troubleshoot complex system-level software, latency, and real-time integration issues
• Collaborate with software, systems, and customer engineering teams to support deployed operational systems

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional C/C++ software development
• Strong Linux development experience
• Experience working in large production software codebases
• Experience integrating radar or sensor systems at the software level
• Experience processing radar measurements, tracks, or sensor outputs
• Experience supporting operational Command & Control (C2) systems or mission systems
• Strong debugging, multithreading, and performance optimization skills
• Air Defense or Missile Defense experience
• Multi-sensor integration or sensor fusion
• Track management or track correlation
• Legacy system integration
• RS-232, TCP/UDP, or custom tactical interfaces
• Defense or Aerospace software development
• Active or recently held Security Clearance
• Docker
