Senior Product Software Engineer

Ashton North LLC is an engineering-driven organization seeking a Senior Product Software Engineer to develop innovative products used globally. The role focuses on building software for commercial embedded products, collaborating with various engineering teams, and creating scalable back-end services for connected devices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software for commercial embedded products throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Build scalable back-end services using TypeScript and Node.js to support connected devices and product functionality
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and GraphQL services used by hardware products and engineering applications
• Collaborate with embedded software, firmware, electrical engineering, and product management teams
• Develop cloud connected solutions utilizing AWS technologies
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving embedded software, Linux systems, networking, and cloud services
• Participate in architecture discussions, product design reviews, and technical planning
• Improve software performance, reliability, scalability, and security across the product ecosystem

Requirements:

• Experience developing commercial software products
• Experience working with embedded systems, firmware, or connected electronic devices
• Strong Linux development experience
• Professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js for back-end software development
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Experience working with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT, or WebSockets
• Experience collaborating with embedded software or firmware engineering teams
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software and hardware environments
• Experience with C or C++
• Experience with Embedded Linux
• Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3
• Experience with Angular and GraphQL
• Experience supporting connected devices or IoT platforms
• Experience taking products from concept through production release
