Job Description: Senior Ansible Automation Consultant (AWX to AAP Migration) Working Hours: This position requires the willingness to work UK business hours (British Standard Time/British Summer Time as applicable). Candidates should either be based in the EMEA region or be available to work standard UK hours.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ansible Automation Consultant to lead and support enterprise-scale migrations from AWX to RH Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing and deploying enterprise AAP environments, migrating automation assets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and configure RH Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) in enterprise environments following High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) best practices.
• Lead the migration of Ansible automation assets from AWX and legacy AAP environments to new AAP platforms.
• Assess existing automation environments and develop migration strategies with minimal business disruption.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and technical teams to deliver implementations aligned with approved solution designs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, migration plans, and operational procedures.
• Participate in project planning, providing accurate estimates and contributing to project timelines.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, communicate project progress, and manage expectations regarding scope and delivery.
• Troubleshoot complex automation platform issues and recommend best-practice solutions.
• Support knowledge transfer and mentor customer or internal technical teams where required.

Required Technical Skills

• Expert-level experience deploying RH Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) in enterprise topology configurations.
• Strong expertise implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures for AAP.
• Expert-level experience migrating automation assets between AWX and AAP or between AAP environments.
• Experience with the AAP Bridge migration tool is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of Python (Intermediate level or higher).
• Strong understanding of Ansible automation best practices, inventories, execution environments, credentials, and controller administration.

Required Experience

• Proven experience delivering Ansible Automation Platform implementations as part of a project team based on architectural designs.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to technical projects, including maintaining project documentation and technical deliverables.
• Experience collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to understand stakeholder requirements and communicate realistic expectations regarding project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience working across diverse technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• RH certifications related to Ansible Automation Platform or RH Enterprise Linux.
• Experience with enterprise Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Git-based automation workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Experience integrating Ansible Automation Platform with enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms is an advantage.
