Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Urbandale, IA 50322
Duration: Contract For 1 + years
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-6 years of software development experience with at least one programming language such as:
- Java (preferred)
- Go
- Scala
- Python
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Kubernetes/EKS
- AWS Cloud Services
- OpenTelemetry
- Terraform
- 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), observability, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- 3+ years of experience deploying, managing, and supporting Kubernetes/EKS clusters.
- 3+ years of experience hosting and operating applications in AWS environments.
- Experience building automation and infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain platform capabilities that enable product teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
- Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes/EKS environments.
- Implement and support observability and tracing solutions using OpenTelemetry.
- Collaborate with engineering teams through paired programming and technical mentorship.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Terraform.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive reliability improvements across systems.
- Coordinate with multiple teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Datadog and/or Grafana.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and platform engineering practices.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
